Practice closed for staff training

To help our team learn and grow, we’ll be closed from 12:30pm on Thursday 26th March 2026 for staff training.

If you’re not feeling well and need to speak to a medical professional, contact NHS 111 by calling 111 from your telephone or visiting 111.nhs.uk. You can also call the practice to use our out of hours service. In an emergency always call 999.

We’ll be back open as normal on Friday 27th March 2026.

Meningitis B

You may have seen reports of an outbreak of Meningitis among university students in Kent. It is reported that this is an outbreak of Meningitis B.

We have not received instruction from NHS England to offer Meningitis B outside of the normal vaccination programme at this time. We will be contacting eligible patients who are missing other Meningitis vaccinations (ACWY) to invite them in for vaccination.

Register with the University GP Service

The University GP Service will be closed from 24th December 2025 and will reopen on Monday 5th January 2026. To find out where to get help whilst it’s closed, click here.

The University GP Service is an on-campus medical GP practice provided by The Robert Darbishire Practice. It’s located on the 4th floor of Crawford House on Booth Street East.

If you aren’t in our practice catchment area, you will see a message pop up that says you will receive a restricted service. Don’t worry, you will receive the same care as patients within our catchment area, we just can’t offer home visits to you.

This service is for students and staff of The University of Manchester only. If this doesn’t apply to you, please register at our main branch.
