Meningitis B

You may have seen reports of an outbreak of Meningitis among university students in Kent. It is reported that this is an outbreak of Meningitis B.

We have not received instruction from NHS England to offer Meningitis B outside of the normal vaccination programme at this time. We will be contacting eligible patients who are missing other Meningitis vaccinations (ACWY) to invite them in for vaccination.

Poetry Competition: Healing and Hope

We’re excited to announce that we’re launching a Poetry Competition at The Robert Darbishire Practice, and we’d love for you to join in!

Whether you’re hoping for a normal test result, or healing from an illness, healing and hope are an important part of any healthcare journey. That’s why we’ve chosen healing and hope as the theme for the competition.

It doesn’t matter if you’ve written poetry before or want to try it for the first time, all poems are welcome. To enter, submit an original poem based on the theme of ‘healing and hope’ here by 15th December 2024. Make sure to include the full name that’s noted on your medical records, so if you win we are able to identify you!

The winner will receive a £25 book voucher, and have their poem displayed in the practice waiting room for all to see.

This competition is open to all ages and skill levels. We can’t wait to see what you write! Let’s come together to share healing and hope – one poem at a time.

Submit your entry here

Any entries submitted after 15th December will not be considered. We welcome poems in different languages. Please note as part of the selection process, these will be translated using Microsoft translation programmes. If we are unable to identify the writer, the prize will be passed down to the next runner up.
