About The Robert Darbishire Practice
Long established
The Robert Darbishire Practice was established in 1954 as part of Manchester University. In 2011 we became independent from the University, but we still provide the same high quality care.
Our mission statement
We aim to offer the best possible medical care and highest quality of service that is efficient, courteous and without discrimination.
We will treat every patient with equal respect, irrespective of age, gender, religion, race, sexuality or social status.
Part of the NHS family
Like other surgeries, we are part of the NHS family, providing NHS primary care services to NHS patients under contract to NHS England. We are in the area of Central Manchester Clinical Commissioning Group which oversees health services in this area. We work with these organisations to ensure that the services we offer are of a high standard.
A training practice
We are an accredited training practice, educating the healthcare professionals of the future. To find out more about how this might affect you see: Teaching.
Listening to our patients
We very much value the views of our patients and each year we carry out a survey to find out what our patients think of our service. We also carry out occasional other surveys on specific issues. If you are asked to complete a form we hope you will take the time to share your honest opinions with us, as this will help us to learn about what we can do better. We also encourage our patients to submit comments and ideas for improvements and we have a suggestion box in the waiting room.
